Edmonton – The recruits of Calgary Flames won a victory from 6 to 5 Edmonton Oilers Friday evening, holding a late push in an entertaining match in Rogers Place.
After abandoning the objective of opening up to the Oilers, the flames responded with their own count before the end of the first period, when Hunter Laing capitalized on a rebound in front of the score of 1 to 1.
Calgary checked the second period, hitting three times to build a dominant advance. Nathan Brisson placed the flames in front 2-1, then Sam Honzek finished a net passage, and Aydar Suniev added to the head with a rush time to do it 4-1 at the break.
