The behavior of tennis fans at the US Open is again under the spotlight after the images of a man trying to open the bag of Jannik Sinner have become viral.
Sinner, who faces the Italian compatriot Lorenzo Musetti in the quarter -final this morning from 10 a.m. (AST), had just finished his victory in sets on Alexander Bublik when the world number one approached the crowd to give a napkin to a young fan.
While the sinner turned his back, a fan in the front row reached the champion’s bag and started to decompress it, before being arrested for safety.
The incident follows the Polish managing director of the flaw company Drogruk who was criticized for tearing up a hat of a child in the crowd after Kamil Majchrzak’s match against Karen Khachanv earlier in the week.
Piotr Szczerek was filmed taking the hat after Majchrzak seemed to give it to the child.

“I take full responsibility for my extremely bad judgment and my hurtful actions,” he wrote.
“It was never my intention to steal a precious memory of the young fan. I became taken in the warmth of the moment and the joy of victory.
“No matter what I thought I was happening, the actions I took injured the young boy and disappointed fans.
“I sent the hat to the boy and extended my sincere apologies to his family. I hope, at least to a small extent, I was able to repair the evil I caused.”
