Nascar Coming back to his “last big colossus”, Bristol Motor Speedway.
Bristol Motor Speedway is a favorite track for fans on the Nascar Cup series circuit known for high banks and narrow races. This tight race generally produces one or more exciting accidents that can end with drivers who fight or throw things (see Tony Stewart against Matt Kenseth in the 2012 night race or Rusty Wallace against Dale Earnhardt in 1995).

Bristol Motor Speedway History
Carl Moore, Larry Carrier and RG Pope opened what was called Bristol International Raceway in 1961, the location was seated in a 100 acres dairy farm.
The hippodrome was initially paid and had 22 degrees of bank in the turns. The track was repaired several times in 1969 and the bank increased up to 36 degrees. Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway do not even have as many banking services in these high -speed tracks.

The stadium lights went up in the speedway in 1978, offering the possibility of the exciting and infamous night race. Cale Yarborough won this race.
Finally, 1992 brought the biggest change to the speedway when he went from asphalt to the concrete race surface that we see now.
Bristol Motor Speedway is now at 28 degrees of maximum banking with 4-8 degrees in the rear section and 5-9 in the front section.
Nascar Bristol Race on dirt
Nascar ran races on the surface of concrete until the 2021 season when the spring race was put on dirt. The composition of “Nextgen” cars allowed the races to run on dirt.

Three races were sunk on the surface of the dirt, Joey Logano winning the first. Kyle Busch won the second year of racing with a pass from the last corner of Chris Buescher in 2022 and Christopher Bell won Dirt’s last race in 2023. Nascar chose to put the concrete race after the fans around the sport harvested so that he was dirt, starting with the race in 2024.
Bristol organized all kinds of events, with several sports heading towards the Speedway.
Football in Bristol Motor Speedway
There were three football games in Bristol Motor Speedway. The first took place in 1961, when Washington fought Philadelphia in a pre-season match of the NFL. The Eagles won, 17-10. Tennessee volunteers fought the Hokies of Virginia Tech in 2016 with winning volunteers, 45-24.

There was a less known college football match the week after the Tennessee-Virginia Tech match in 2016. East Tennessee State obtained an upheaval of 34-31 against western Carolina on the Bristol Motor Speedway Infield.
Baseball at Bristol Motor Speedway
The Braves of Atlanta and Cincinnati Reds will play in the first Baseball match of the major league at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 2, 2025. The “MLB Speedway Classic” will be the first MLB match in Tennessee.
When the Nascar Bristol breed is
The Food City 500 is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT on Sunday April 13 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. This is the first of the two races in Bristol and three races in Tennessee for the 2025 season.

2024 results of the Nascar Bristol race
Denny Hamlin managed its tires in a difficult race while the tire compound used in the race has chewed the tires on the surface of the concrete. However, Hamlin was able to lead 163 laps and win the victory in the Bristol spring race last year.
