THE Hurricanes de Caroline lost 5-3 against the Detroit Red Wings Friday evening at Little Caesars Arena.

It was a slow start for the Hurricanes, who found themselves in a hole of 2-0 less than 10 minutes in the match, and despite a score, they simply could not get out of it.

Jackson Blake continued to stay hot and Justin Robidas took his first career in the NHL in his First NHL game in career.

After the match, the Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’amour, with Robidas, spoke with the Media of Detroit. Here is what they had to say:

Rod Brind’amour

On the game: The first period, we were simply not committed enough. I gave them two goals, did not really give them, but we were late. And then we dug and played a big match after that. Unfortunately, we gave them two, then the other two were reversals where we had full possession of the washer and led to a breakaway, then a guy alone in front. Just sloppy decisions. Apart from that, this game was quite solid.

On Justin Robidas: Did an excellent job. Obviously, had a pretty one on the sole goal. He just worked and worked and worked and then obtained a goal. Won some playing. It was good.

On the development by the team of young talents: We certainly need it and it’s great to see. Especially since these guys will only improve. We know it and they have the attitude where they want to improve. So you have to put the work in it and as long as they continue, I think it is a really positive thing to have.

On Jackson Blake is starting to find a touch of score: He does nothing differently. He plays well all year round and now you play it with fish and jarvs and I think it obviously helps him. But it is really, in my opinion, maybe even the best on this line. He led him and continues to work and continues to improve. It is a real big bonus for us.

Justin Robidas

By making his NHL debut: It is fun to be able to contribute offensively, but a little unhappy that we were unable to obtain this victory.

On the game: I think we played hard, but we had some reveals and botched pieces that found themselves at the back of our net. So I think that the simple fact of cleaning it would help, for sure.

On its nerves: I was quite nervous, that’s for sure. I didn’t really take a nap this afternoon and I was just trying to appreciate it as much as possible and have fun with it.

In the locker room: It’s a large group of guys. Everyone was very welcoming and I am very grateful for their support. Everyone’s support was very special.

On the differences between AHL and NHL: It is certainly much faster. You can’t really make mistakes because it will cost you. A very fast and very high pace and I would say that it is also much less botched, that’s for sure. I have to be clean each quarter of work, so it was definitely a good learning experience for me.
