Rory McILroy discusses the preparation of the 2025 masters, a form of national Augusta

Before setting it up in Texas Children’s Houston Open, Rory McILroy made a scouting trip to Augusta National before the Masters.

  • Rory McILroy visited Augusta National to prepare for masters and familiarize himself with the course changes.
  • McILroy seeks to win the Masters and finish the big career slam.
  • McILroy noted that the green of the 16th hole was redone but remains largely unchanged, with fewer shadows due to the loss of trees.

Houston – before Rory McILroy went to Houston to set him up in Texas Children’s Houston OpenHe made a stop at the stand at the Augusta National Golf Club.

The masters starts two weeks from Thursday, where Mcilroy will seek to finish the big career chelem. It will be his 11th time to play the masters with a chance to finish the slam, but this year, he could undoubtedly supplant the number 1 of the world and the defending champion Scottie Scheffler as a favorite thanks to his recent room.

McILroy captured the AT&T PEBBLE BEACH PR-AM on the west coast swing before winning its second Players Last Monday, at the head of JJ SPAUN in a three -hole qualifying series. He added the Memorial Park golf course as the last departure before the first major of the year, but his preparation for Augusta National began this week.

Why did he go and what has he noticed during his training tour?

“I use these trips just to reimburse me with the place, the Tees clubs, seeking to see if they have changed green vegetables,” said McILroy. “There are four Greens who are new this year they have redone. You look at it and see if there are new hole positions they give you, things like that.

“Apart from that, honestly for me, it’s nice to play a round of training without people and it removes pressure from the beginning of the week for me. There are a lot of obligations, there are big commitments, whether it be the media or the tournament by 3 Wednesday. I prefer to get up and have the impression of not being precipitated Monday, Tuesday, the week of the tournament and it was the reason that I went there.”

McILroy did not specify which four Greens were new, but he spoke of the 16th green by 3 and changes on and around this hole because of Hurricane Helene.

Earlier this year, President Fred Ridley declared that Augusta National was in spectacular shape After the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. The property has lost a few trees, but Ridley said that any damage to the playing areas had been repaired quickly and that the course would not have major changes due to the storm.

“The loss of a few trees is certainly noticeable, but in terms of as they had to redo this green, but it is exactly the same thing as what it was,” said McLroy about 16 years. “The hole will play – apart from perhaps a few shadows less on the green late day because of a few trees that have been lost, but other than that, it’s about the same thing.”
