Homestead, Florida – While Justin Bonsignore rocked his newborn son in the ambulance and looked at his peaceful face, he was grateful for the arrival of his son and amazed at the way it happened, but he also had something he wanted to say to his second child.
“What is Devil?” You couldn’t do it 30 minutes or an hour (so) could we have done this more easily? ”
Greyson Anthony Bonsignore was in his father’s arms in an ambulance because he arrived in his father’s Dodge van in a McDonald’s parking lot in the middle of the night on February 28.
“I just can’t overcome how crazy the whole situation,” said Sports on Saturday in Joe Gibbs in the Xfinity series.
The first Dash 4 event in cash of the season will take place on the 1.5 mile track.
The McDonald’s is the same as Bonseing and his wife Taylor visited when they brought back their first son, Evan, from the hospital 15 months ago.
And in a way, Evan played a role in the unique arrival of his brother.
Evan fell ill five days before the birth of Greyson. Taylor caught the bug two days later. She felt better the next day but started to have intermittent contractions shortly before going to her doctor’s appointment.
Thought was that Taylor’s contractions were due to dehydrated in the stomach bug. But the contractions, although sporadic, continued the next day on Thursday.
When she went to bed that night, the contractions were about 10 minutes apart. This changed around 1:30 a.m. on February 28. The contractions were almost six minutes apart, then they started to occur faster.
It was a week before Greyson’s arrival, but he seemed ready now.
Bonsignore put his wife in the truck and they quickly took off from their Wading River river, New York, Long Island. Unless a mile in the hospital trip, Taylor’s water broke.
They had another 30 minutes to do.
Bonsignore, a quadruple champion of the modified tour of Nascar Whelen, admits that he took liberties on the two -way road to go to the hospital.
“I go as fast as possible … by making sure that we do not hit a deer or someone comes out of a secondary road,” he told his wife.
“You have to stop me. I’m not going to get there, ”she told her.
Bonsignore continued to think: “No question. It will not happen to us.”
She was categorical … and shouting for him to stop.
He called 911.
Nascar clarifies the rule on bites in the stand of another team
Nascar’s reaction comes after Christopher Bell stopped in the team of a teammate to tighten a loose wheel last weekend in Las Vegas.
They had just cleaned a wooded area, crossed a traffic light and stopped in the McDonald’s car park. He knew they would be easier to find there, then along another part of the isolated road.
He stopped the truck, jumped and run on the passenger side.
The 911 operator asked: “Can you see the head?”
“Yeah.”
“Ok, you’re going …”
Too late.
Greyson arrived.
The operator of the 911 then asked: “Does he breathe?”
Greyson made no noise.
Bonsignore had given his wife their son. Taylor rubbed Greyson and tapped him, trying to make him answer.
He started to cry.
“The best thing you can hear,” said Bonssignore.
Soon, an officer arrived and Bonsignore ended his four -minute call with 911. Another officer stopped in the parking lot. The ambulance arrived a few minutes later.
The EMTs tended to Taylor while an officer took Bonsignore to the back of his truck.
“Adrenaline was so high,” said Bonssignore about what he felt then. “It was like winning the race.”
Then one of the EMT called to Bonsignore.
“Dad,” said the EMT, “do you want to cut the cord (umbilical)?”
“I delivered this one. I think you can take care of it. “
They let Taylor cut the cord.
After Bonsignore had a few moments with her son in the ambulance, his son and his wife were taken to the hospital. He followed in his truck.
When they arrived at the hospital, Bonsignore said that “there should be 50 people waiting for us to arrive. (Taylor) felt like a celebrity. She said in each turn that she returned on the stretcher to the room, there were people there to congratulate here and to say how crazy it was. ”
Later, the staff asked questions to Bonsignore and his wife to complete the birth certificate – he lists the address of the McDonald’s as a location. When asked what time Greyson was born, Taylor replied quickly: “It was 2:49.”
“How”, he asked, “Did you know?”
“I just looked at the clock (in the truck) just after it happened.”
“Is that what you thought?” I panicked, losing my head. ”
