Clippers coach Tyronn Lue has missed four of the last six games due to back problems. It is not clear if it will come back for the match against Memphis on Friday evening. (Wally Skalij / Los Angeles Times)

With or without coach Tyronn Lue patrolling the key line, The mowers I will play another significant match against another enemy of the difficult Western Conference in Memphis Grizzlies on Friday evening at Intuit Dome.

They are now the seventh seeded in the West, which would place them in the game tournament. But these are only 3½ games behind the Grizzlies of the fifth seed and entered a match behind the Golden State Warriors of sixth seeds Thursday. The Clippers (39-30) have the head of tête-à-tête on the grizzly greeks (2-0) and the Warriors (3-0).

The clippers also play Oklahoma City at home on Sunday. The Thunder (57-12) has the best NBA record. The Clippers are looking to take a stand in these matches, knowing how important each victory is for their chances of going back to the West Uber-Touch and obtaining a place in the playoffs.

“The three teams we have this week are ahead of us with regard to the best records, including two in the Western Conference. They were declaration matches,” said goalkeeper Norman Powell. “You want to go there and play and show that we can compete and beat these teams. This is the moment of the playoffs. I think we have 12 games left. …

“It is therefore a question of positioning and playing your best basketball brand. At the bottom of the games and preparing for the playoffs, it is always good to have the best teams which in a way solidified their, two, three places in the playoffs, to see where we are and see where we can improve to go there and be the team that we have to go to the last extended.”

Read missed four of the last six games due to back problems, the last against Cleveland Tuesday eveningAnd assistant Brian Shaw was at the helm in his place. The Clippers say that the status of reads for the match against the Grizzlies must be determined on Friday.

Shaw, a former Denver Nuggets coach, led the Clippers to a 3-1 file in the absence of a read. And the victories and the defeats are on the big book of Lue, Shaw reminded everyone by laughing.

The deputy coach of the Clippers, Jeff Van Gundy, who is in charge of the defense, missed the riders’ match due to a family business. Neither he or training on Thursday.

“Regarding JV, we simply pray for him and his family situation to come back as soon as possible,” said Shaw. “T. Lue always feels back problems, and therefore the same thing with him. We just want him to come back as soon as possible. We also want him to take care of him for everything you need to come back.”

The victory on the riders with Shaw in charge was another important match against the team that had the best record of the NBA, and it was the fourth victory of the Clippers and seventh in eight games.
They stick to the message that they are what they are doing and not so much to try to make a statement against the best teams.

“Yes, this is our group,” said Shaw. “When we are able to control what comes to us for us, we must take control of these situations. This is how I approach, we approach it. Do not try to do it more than it is.

“The only thing I really saw in the game of Cleveland is like the joy with which everyone was playing. So we want to continue. We want them to have fun, we want them to compete and I think that if we compete and that we have fun, we share the ball and everyone has the impression that they are involved. … We have had a lot of contributions in many ways.

The clippers have just enough time to get into the best possible position in the competitive and crowded West. And the talented grizzlies are following online for the clippers.

“Memphis will do what they are going to do. They will try to impose their will. We have to try to do the same with them,” said Shaw. “But as I said, it is mainly a question of performing mainly what we want to do and worry about playing in the right way and doing the right things.”
