Jack Draper from Great Britain was helped by a controversial call for video referee to win a victory over Carlos Alcaraz and reach the largest final of his career.

Draper, 23, amazed a quadruple major champion Alcaraz with a 6-1 0-6 6-4 victory in the Indian semi-final of Wells.

The British number one, which served the match in the second attempt, will go into the top 10 of the world for the first time in his career accordingly.

The central moment of a bizarre match came when the draper of England was rescued by video technology in the third game of the decisive set – and continued to break the service of Alcaraz.

With the score at 1-1 and match 15-15 on the service of Alcaraz, the ball was tried by referee Mohamed Lahyani for having bounced twice before Draper reaches a drop of drop.

It was clearly a bad call from the official, but players now have the advantage of using video technology in Indian wells to challenge decisions on double rebounds.

After Draper instantly asked for a replay, his challenge has succeeded and allowed Lahyani to overthrow the initial decision.

He received the point for an advance of 15-30 and, with a momentum in his favor, obtained a break which ultimately proved the difference.

The left -hander continues to cope with the Denmark Holger’s rune in the Sunday final at the Masters 1000 event.

Rune, ranked 13th in the world, has reached the fourth final of the masters of his career with a victory of 7-5 6-4 against the fifth Russian seeded Daniil Medvedev.
