The Bears re-signed the tight veteran to the winger Stephen Carlson, according to the NFL transactions report.
He has spent the last two seasons in Chicago but has only played one game last season due to a broken collarbone.
Carlson replayed a tight end room which includes Cole Kmet, Durham Smythe, Joel Wilson and Jordan Murray.
He burst into the NFL as a free agent not drafted with the Browns in 2019.
Carlson played 26 games with seven departures during his career, totaling six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown. It also has nine special teams.
Carlson played 294 snaps in attack during his career and 450 on special teams.
