Although women’s tennis player Aryna Sabalenka had a few disappointing games in recent tournaments, she is smiling while returning to BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

“I am super happy to be back, I love this tournament,” said the Belarusian player at a press conference on Tuesday morning. “It’s called Tennis Paradise for a reason.”

Sabalenka hopes to return to Indian Wells after recent losses in the Middle East, as well as the Australian Open finals, where she failed against American Madison Keys, thwarting her plans for three peat to the major. It was “difficult” to accept and move on, she admitted, saying that it took more than a week to stop thinking. But that also gave him the motivation to continue working hard.

“February is not my month, I believe,” she said. “I love this tournament, and they call it another slam, so I’m quite excited and I really want to go as much as possible.”

Sabalenka managed to go far during the previous appearances of the Indian Wells, reaching the final of the female singles in 2023, where she lost against the Kazakhstani player Elena Rybakina. It was another difficult match, she recalls, because she felt that she “had lost this match by myself” due to several uns forked mistakes. Rybakina won a 7-6 victory (11), 6-4.

But if she manages to win the victory this year, it would mean a lot for the Belarus.

“Winning this trophy means a lot because I had a lot of crazy experiences here at Indian Wells and I always wanted to win this tournament,” she said with a smile. “It would be incredible to have this beautiful trophy in the house.”

Hopefully the reblued courts, of the same supplier used to the Miami Open and the US Open, works in its favor, which is known to provide a faster rate, According to Sports Illustrated. She told journalists that they “felt good so far”, before joking, “I will tell you later after my first match, I hope I will still like it.”

Although she can come with the mindset of a champion, Sabalenka is always full of her usual charm and mind. She recently attended a party in Los Angeles for the change of brand of Women’s Tennis Association, and when she asked her what she would like to see the future, she has filed a few requests.

“I would like them to show our personalities a little more so that people can see and know who we are outside the tennis class,” she said. “I would like them to do it, if they publish something and do something on social networks, publish better photos of us, not where we really seem ugly and bad”, which was encountered with laughter.

Sabalenka will release the training court on Monday evening before its second -hand match which will probably be played on Friday.
