February 28 – The new corner half of Mexico Cam Watts organized a 6.68 -second dashboard of 6.68 seconds at the Mountain West Indoor athletics championships to win the preliminaries and go to the final on Saturday.
UNM Athletics Coach Darren Gauson said Watts has been with the program for about a week after being without attachment in a few indoor events this season.
“(He) did really well, then we talked to the football coaches,” he added, “(and) they were happy for him to go out … We are really excited to have cam with us.”
The old transfer of 5 -foot Tech 10 inch and 190 pounds made 20 plated in total in nine games with the lobos last season. Watts previously ran a track at Union High School in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, but had no university experience before this season.
The 60 men’s final is scheduled for 11:40 am on Saturday.
