Destroyed made eight birdies and a Bogey at TPC Scottsdale to go to 12 under the peer.
Michael Kim pulled a 63 to move to the second town alongside his American compatriot Alex Smalley.
“I was actually very comfortable on the Greens this week,” said Detry. “I did a good job with my trainer, and the Greens are driving as well as possible.
“I also struck a lot of fairways.”
Jordan Spieth is three shots from the advance after 65 while Scottie Scheffler 66 leaves him for five years.
The night leader, Wyndham Clark, dropped the ranking after hiding a 73 – he seated five under Robert Macintyre of Scotland.
Emiliano Grillo in Argentina made a hole in a 16th place – which is famous for its noisy crowd atmosphere – during its 69.
“You always dream of making a hole there, so every time you enter there, you try to do it,” he said.
“It was noisy. It was very strong. There was a lot of emotions.”
