London (AP) – The Sport Arbitration Court (CAS) reduced the suspension of the Swedish tennis player Dragos Madaras from four years and six months to two years.
Madaras had been suspended as part of the tennis anti-corruption program to break the rules. Madaras reached a global career ranking of 191 in July 2023. He had been suspended after refusing to cooperate and that his mobile phone analyzed as part of an investigation.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) said in a statement on Monday that the case had partially confirmed its call. He recognized his inability to cooperate but also found that a reduced sanction was appropriate.
In a separate case, the case rejected a call from the French player Leny Mitjana against a 10 -year suspension, said the international tennis integrity unit.
