It is in early February, but that did not prevent Nebraska from continuing to operate the transfer portal to improve its list before the 2025 season.
Today, the Huskers landed Notre-Dame Graduate Transfer Offensive Loun-Joue Rocco Spindler. It is the 16th addition of transfer that Nebraska made this cycle and will come to Lincoln with an eligibility season to play.

According to reports, Nebraska has won the recruitment of the Portal on Indiana, Pittsburgh, Virginie and Michigan, the team to which he has almost committed as a recruit of the secondary.

The 5 -foot spindler 5 inches and 325 pounds, which was a four -star recruit, classified n ° 68 in total in class 2021, has spent the last four seasons at Notre Dame. The native of Clarkston, Michigan, played 40 career games with 23 departures for the Fighting Irish, all at the right guard, including 13 departures in 2024 when he replaced the starter Billy Schrauth, who was injured against Purdue le Purdue September 15.

Spindler finished the season on the right after Schrauth’s injury at the start of the season and started the four playoffs of university football of the Irish, including the national championship against Ohio State. Spindler started 10 games on the right in 2023.

Experienced veteran, Spindler comes to Lincoln with 1,325 snaps to his credit, according to Pro Football Focus. During the last two seasons, Spindler has played 1,306 snaps (747 in 2024-25 and 559 in 2023). Spindler comes from good football blood while his father, Marc, played nine years in the NFL as a defensive line player and played Pitt.

Nebraska returns two of its three interior offensive line starters from 2024, including the right guard Henry Lutovsky and left guard Justin Evans. Ben Scott, the departure center in the last two seasons, has left the program after exhausted its eligibility.

Evans has experience in the game center in Nebraska and spent much of the 2024 season as a safeguard of Scott while starting next to him. Evans will be an option to start in the center in 2025, just like some third year players Sam SledgeA local Creighton Prep product in Omaha, and Jason MaciejczakAn inner line of southern Dakota.

Nebraska also brought the real first year of the 2025 class Houston Kaahaaina-TorresAn intriguing player who is already in the team for winter training sessions as early registrations of St. Louis secondary school in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What Nebraska gets to Rocco Spindler

Conversely and well proportioned to 6-5 and 325 pounds, Spindler played the right guard mainly throughout his career at Notre Dame. I play lower than expected for its size, does a good job by playing with a coherent lever effect. Physics on finesse is the name of his game.

The wrestling background appears as a racing blocker. Always looking for work and engages in blocks through the whistle. Moves well in the open space. Violent extractor, goes up to the second level effectively. An impressive global body force, but the initial punch is just average.

The speed of the ball could improve, it can lose ground against defensive line players faster, but generally does a good job by anchoring, even when it is beaten with melee.

Could improve the counters of defenders who use advanced speed movements to power. Technically sound in most of the elements of his game. Not necessarily agile, but well balanced in his set of passes and reflects the defenders well. Could potentially afford to look and improve athletics, probably better at the right guard.

Technically healthy after years of development in Notre Dame’s program, but should benefit from learning the style of coaching of Donovan Raiola.
