Saturday night, future Hall of Famer Marc-André Fleury will make his 1,042nd career start and his 24th against the Calgary Flames.

Considering Fleury spent most of his career in the Eastern Conference, he didn’t play very often against Calgary.

However, once the Vegas Golden Knights drafted him in the 2018 Expansion Draft, the Flames saw a lot more of him.

In his final season with the Minnesota Wild, Saturday will give him one more chance to torment the Flames, as he has a 14-7-1 career record against the club.

Let’s look back at some fascinating stats from the previous 23 games Fleury played against Calgary.

After notching his 10th victory of the season, Marc-André Fleury joins Martin Brodeur as the only goaltender in NHL history to record more than 10 victories in 20 different seasons 🌸 pic.twitter.com/6Im4syVhnE

– Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) January 21, 2025

.931 – Fleury’s career SV% is .912, but against Calgary he was better than his usual numbers, producing a .931 SV% in 23 games. He made 618 saves on 664 shots.

46 – Fleury has allowed 2,604 goals in his NHL career, with the Flames scoring 46, or about 0.017% of his total.

42 – Most saves Fleury made in a game against Calgary. On March 18, 2018, he posted a 42-save shutout as the Golden Knights defeated the Flames at T-Mobile Arena.

32 – In 23 games against Calgary, 32 different scorers lit the lamp against Fleury, with only nine players scoring multiple goals, including Rasmus Andersson, Mikael Backlund, Sam Bennett, Joe Colborne, Johnny Gaudreau, Mark Giordano, Mark Jankowski, Daymond Langkow, and Matthew Tkachuk.

14 – In 23 games, Fleury has collected 14 victories against the Flames, which equates to a winning percentage of .608.

8 – Fleury was beaten 622 times on the power play, with Flames players scoring eight goals. Only Gaudreau managed to score twice.

6 – In a game between the Flames and Golden Knights on April 7, 2018, Fleury allowed a career-high six goals, playing only the first two periods. He finished the night with 12 saves on 18 shots and an SV% of .667.

5 – Gaudreau leads all Calgary skaters with five lights against Fleury. His first goal came on December 12, 2014 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and his last came on October 12, 2019 against the Vegas Golden Knights.

5 – Fleury has 75 shutouts in his career, which ranks him 12th all-time. Interestingly, he recorded at least one shutout against 28 NHL teams, including five against the Flames. Its first took place on December 6, 2007 and the most recent on November 17, 2019.

2.12 – After 1,041 games, Fleury’s career goals-against average is 2.60, but as mentioned, he’s playing better against Calgary, lowering his goals-against average to 2.12 against the team.

2 – Spencer Foo has scored two NHL goals in his career, including his second against Fleury on April 7, 2018. This is the closest a Flames player has come to scoring their first career goal against Fleury.

1 – Jankowski is the only Calgary skater to score shorthanded against Fleury, scoring an unassisted goal on April 7, 2018.

As the second winningest goaltender in NHL history and a three-time Stanley Cup winner, Fleury is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. As she is known, the Flower is admired throughout the league, especially by her teammates who have been the butt of her endless pranks.

What will you remember from Fleury’s performance against the Flames? Let us know in the comments.
