Play resumed at 6:31 p.m. EST at the Farmers Insurance Open, after a suspension of one hour and 26 minutes due to high winds.

The Tour initially halted play at 5:05 p.m. EST during the second round at Torrey Pines, outside San Diego, California, as winds gusted across the North and South courses.

Gravity was evident on the second hole to the north, where the wind blew away Hideki Matsuyama’s ball before he could putt. (He was allowed, under the rules of golf, to return his ball to its original location without penalty.)

Ludvig Åberg, who led after a 9-under 63 in the first round on the North Course, was 2-over par through 12 holes Friday on the South Course when play was halted. He was still one shot ahead of Hayden Springer, who had a 1-up advantage that day through 14 holes in the South.

Amateur Luke Clanton, meanwhile, was 3 under through 10 holes in the South, moving to 5 under for the tournament and tied for third place.

At the time of the suspension, the North course was playing more than five shots more than in the first round. The South course played more than three shots more.
