MELBOURNE, Australia — Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka says she and her partner, rapper Cordae, “are no longer a couple.”
Osaka posted the news on social media on Monday, less than a week before the start of the Australian Open tennis tournament. Osaka won this event in 2019 and 2021. She also owns two US Open titles.
She and Cordae became parents of a daughter in Los Angeles in July 2023. Osaka returned to the tour at last year’s Australian Open after about 15 months off.
“No hard feelings at all, he’s a great person and a great father,” Osaka wrote. “Honestly, I’m really happy that our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I’ve been able to grow a lot through our experiences together.”

Ahead of the Australian Open, which begins Sunday at Melbourne Park (Saturday EST), Osaka reached the final of a tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. But she stopped playing due to injury after winning the first set of Sunday’s final.
