An unfortunately memorable moment from the 2024 World Series occurred in Game 4 when Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Bets on Mookie attempted to catch a ball in right field foul territory at Yankee Stadium in the first inning.
Betts climbed over the wall to reach the first row of seats and made the catch. However, two fans immediately I tried to take the ball from Betts’ glove, as if that would have prevented the takedown. One spectator was filmed trying to open Betts’ glove to retrieve the ball, while the other grabbed the former MVP’s wrist to prevent him from removing the glove and ball .
“Well, A for effort.”

The referees called fan interference and awarded the takedown to Betts. The two spectators were then escorted out of the stadium and later banned from match 5.
After the game, Betts said “I’ve never seen anything like this” and kept his thoughts civil.
Two months after the incident and a possible Dodgers World Series championshipBetts had a much more candid response when asked about fan interference by comedians Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson on their Peacock “Back that year until 2024” special.
“I would definitely say ‘F*** you guys,'” Betts responded when asked what he would say to these fans now. “I make them try to get the ball. Cool. But, like, you tried to catch me.
“I was in the moment,” he added. “So I thought about throwing them a ball. And then I realized, ‘Mook, you’re not going to do anything stupid. Get back to right field.’
Mookie Betts finally responded to Yankees fans who tried to rape him during the World Series:
“I would definitely say fuck off guys.”
“I thought about throwing the ball to them and then I realized Mook, you’re not going to do anything, go back to right field!”

Again, Betts caught the ball and went out. He hit .278 with a .681 OPS. And he won the third World Series title of his career. He absolutely had the last word. From now on, he also has the last word. And it’s on video to watch online.
Betts may not have to deal with such a situation next season either, as the Dodgers plan to move him to the outfield for play second base or shortstop. He could end up in felon territory again playing either of those positions, of course. But Betts wouldn’t necessarily need to go through a wall to get a ball.
The Dodgers will face the Yankees next season in a three-game series from May 30 to June 1. However, the games will be played at Dodger Stadium.
