Who will win for the first time on the PGA Tour in 2025? Here are our predictions

The 2024 season on the PGA Tour has been a great one for new winners.

More than 25% of events were won by a golfer earning their first Tour victory. The first came in January, when Nick Dunlap became the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour since 1991. The last came in the final event of the year, with Maverick McNealy finally breaking through at RSM Classic. A total of 15 golfers have earned their first PGA Tour victory in 2024.

As we look ahead to the 2025 season, here’s a look at 10 golfers who we think will earn their first PGA Tour victory.

Luc Clanton

This one seems obvious, right? Yes, he is still an amateur, but he will inevitably have obtained a Tour card in May via the PGA Tour University Accelerated. He nearly won the RSM Classic last month and had a dominant summer as an amateur competing against the best. Imagine what he can do when he is fully focused on his professional life.

Eric Cole

The 2023 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year has two second-place finishes and two third-place finishes in his first two years on Tour. He earned more than $9 million in his first two years, but his first winner’s check will be cashed in 2025.

Tommy Fleetwood

The fact that Tommy Lad hasn’t won on Tour is one of golf’s biggest mysteries of recent years. Ranked ninth in the Official World Golf Rankings, Fleetwood repeatedly flirted with victory but failed to cross the finish line in front. This will change in 2025.

Max Greyserman

A PGA Tour rookie in 2024, Greyserman has collected three second-place finishes. He was one bad hole (a quadruple bogey) at the Wyndham Championship away from victory, and he finished T-2 at the Zozo Championship two months later. The experience gained in these decisive moments will pay off next year.

Ben Griffin

Griffin recently completed his second year on tour, and he’s had some close wins, most recently runner-up at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open. Sundays have been mixed when he’s been in contention, but a few shots here and there make for a big difference between a win and a top five finish.

Rasmus Hogjaard

Nicolai’s twin brother, Rasmus earned his PGA Tour card via the DP World Tour rankings in 2024 and will join his twin in the United States in 2025. Although Nicolai flirted with victory in 2024, his brother will beat him as as a rookie, and Rasmus will take a victory.

Thriston Laurent

Lawrence was the only other player who could have beaten Rory McIlroy to win the DP World Tour Race in Dubai in 2024, and he earned his Tour card thanks to stellar play on the DP World Tour. Now his talent arrives to play a busy schedule in the United States, and American fans will quickly learn that Lawrence is one of the best in the world.

Aldrich Potgieter

The South African can crush a golf ball and last year became the second youngest player to win the Korn Ferry Tour. He was also the second youngest to win a PGA Tour card, behind Jason Day. Next year he will be one of the youngest winners on the Tour.

Michael Thorbjörnsen

Are you sensing a theme with young people? Thor should soon join the ranks of winners. He earned his card with a first-place finish in the PGA Tour University Class of 2024, and he earned a second-place finish at the John Deere Classic this summer.

Cameron Young

Cam Young is another player, like Fleetwood, who wonders why and how he hasn’t won on Tour yet. He finished second at the 2022 Open Championship, the year he recorded five runners-up finishes. Entering his fourth year on Tour, expect Young to finally finish and get his long-awaited trophy.
