The third night of NBA The inaugural tournament of the season has taken place and it may have been the most exciting night we’ve seen so far. The first three games came down to the final minutes, with the Pacers pulling off an upset in Philadelphia to end the 76ers’ eight-game winning streak and the Heat and Hawks earning victories over the Hornets and Pistons, respectively.
It was in the final matches that the action really took off. The Timberwolves and Warriors engaged in an all-out brawl before a single basket was scored, resulting in Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Jaden McDaniels being ejected. The Warriors rallied behind rookie Brandin Podziemski, but fell just short in a 104-101 loss. The Clippers attempted to pull off a very rare victory against the Nuggets and got James Harden’s best game in red and blue to date, but ultimately fell to 0-5 with Harden in the fold as the Nuggets won a 111-108 victory.
Here’s a quick reminder of what to expect in the tournament in season. The league divided each conference into three groups of five teams. These teams will play group stage matches on Tuesdays and Fridays in November. THE teams launch this season’s urban edition uniforms and the games will be played on specially designed grounds.
Once the five teams in each group have played each other, the top eight will advance to the knockout stage in early December. These eight teams will include the six group winners as well as one wild-card team in each conference.
