Former Nebraska football defensive lineman Jimari Butler announced he is transferring to LSU Tigers on Saturday evening. He made the announcement on X.
Butler played an important role in Nebraska’s football defensive unit during his four seasons in Lincoln. He began his career as a linebacker before moving to defensive line in 2024. He played in 11 games last season, recording 22 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
He finished his time with the Huskers recording 65 combined tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
The Alabama native officially entered the transfer portal on December 2.
Nebraska football has been able to make some noise in the transfer portal in recent days. This includes power forward Williams Nwarneri.
Butler could have a chance to succeed in Baton Rouge under the tutelage of famed Edge Rushers coach Kevin Peoples. At the very least, he’ll have the chance to play for one of the best programs in college football.
