THE WNBA Canada Game 2025 will take place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on August 15 and will feature the Atlanta Dream taking on the Seattle Storm.
The game itself will be the third time the league has played a game in Canada, but it will be the first to take place during the regular season.
The previous two WNBA Canada Games took place during the preseason, with the Storm and the Los Angeles Sparks. I played last May at Rogers Place in Edmonton, as well as the Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx see you in 2023 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
This game will be the fifth WNBA game to be played outside the United States. In addition to Canada’s previous two WNBA Games, the league also hosted games in Mexico in 2004 and England in 2011.
Earlier this month, the league unveiled its first expansion franchise outside the United States with the Toronto Tempo, who will begin play in 2026 after the Golden State Valkyries, who will join the league for the 2025 season.
The Dreams are coming off a 2024 season that saw them finish with a 15-25 mark and get bounced in the first round of the playoffs against the eventual WNBA champions, the New York Liberty. The Storm also fell in the first round after a 25-15 regular season. They were eliminated in two games by the Las Vegas Aces.
The Dream’s Laeticia Amihere, originally from Mississauga, Ontario, is currently the only Canadian on either team.
