The New York Rangers have not only lost a lot of games, but they are showing a lack of urgency in the process.
During this latest stretch in which the Rangers lost nine of their last 12 games, the team played with a lack of heart and toughness.
They look dejected and demoralized because something needs to change. Peter Laviolette asked all his players to play with more passion.

Opposing teams should be afraid to play the Rangers, and right now, that’s simply not the case.
Last season, Rangers had a physical identity and acted as one cohesive unit, which resulted in them winning the Presidents’ Trophy.
The problem this year is that the Rangers have completely lost their identity which made them successful.
Hopefully Laviolette’s message wakes up this team, otherwise the Rangers will find themselves in a tough spot.
