Two days before the start of the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational Tournament At Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, PGA Tour star Tony Finau has retired from the course. Finau was paired with Nelly Korda in the mixed event – they finished T-4 last year – and will be replaced by Daniel Berger.
Amid LIV Golf rumors, Finau confirmed Golf WeekAdam Schupak’s Adam Schupak said last week that his withdrawal from the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas had nothing to do with his departure for the Saudi-backed circuit. Instead, it was about resting after off-season knee surgery.
“From what my doctor told me, it was a pretty standard cleaning,” he said. Golf Week by phone last Wednesday. “He said it would be helpful and so I did it.”
Berger last played at the RSM Classic, where he finished T-2.
