The arrival of a Real Madrid star this summer has been disappointing so far, but Kylian Mbappé is taking steps to resolve this issue. After a second missed penalty in eight days against Athletic Club cost them two points, the French striker spoke to some of the heavyweights in the dressing room.
According to AS JournalMbappé spoke individually with some leaders in the dressing room after the defeat to Athletic, where he admitted that he had not been at his best, and in line with the public message he sent on the social media, he said he would show who he is. He made it clear that he would respond and wanted to be the leader of the Real Madrid project.
It is a change which has been well received by the hierarchy of Real Madridwho believe that this is the Mbappé they were waiting for this summer. The locker room is also satisfied and waiting to follow his example, boosted by his change of attitude.
More than his play or finishing, perhaps the most pointed accusation against Mbappé from the local press is his lack of personality, his distant appearance on the pitch and his lack of spark. If that can change, it could be a turning point for Los Blancos, although it clearly needs to translate into performances as well – his work off the ball will be a sure sign that a change has occurred.
