LONDON (AP) — A tennis official from Bosnia and Herzegovina has been suspended for four years by the International Tennis Integrity Agency for six violations of tennis anti-corruption program, including betting on professional matches.
Damjan Dejanovic’s sanction, which also included a fine of 5,000 euros (about $5,285), was announced by the ITIA on Thursday. He refereed at International Tennis Federation tournaments with an award of $15,000.
The ITIA said Dejanovic admitted betting on tennis matches. He has denied accusations related to manipulation of rating data entry, but an independent hearing officer found him responsible for six alleged rule violations between 2022 and 2023.
Dejanovic was provisionally suspended on January 8 and gets credit for that time, so the ban will expire on January 7, 2028.
