THE Dodgers have filled their coaching position.
Friday evening, the team announced that it had hired Chris Woodward being his first base coach, bringing him back for his second stint on Dave Roberts‘ staff.
Woodward served as third base coach for the Dodgers from 2016 to 2018 before being hired as manager of the Texas Rangers. After going 211-287 in four seasons with the Rangers, who fired him at the end of 2022, Woodward returned to the Dodgers as a senior advisor in their player development department and worked with both the Dodgers and their farm system, especially with infielders throughout the organization.

In his new role, Woodward will take over as the Dodgers’ on-field and on-base coach. Third base coach Dino Ebelwho previously oversaw the infield, will assume on-field coaching responsibilities.
Woodward replaces former first base coach Clayton McCullough, who was hired as manager of the Miami Marlins last week.
“We are excited to have Chris Woodward back on the coaching staff,” general manager Brandon Gomes said in a statement. “He has been a vital part of this organization, helping us win back-to-back NL pennants and was a key part of our success last season. Chris will be an invaluable part of the team moving forward.
