Auburn football lost its third straight game Saturday, falling to No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, 31-13.
Auburn’s position in the USA TODAY Sports reclassified was already low and continued to decline after its last loss. Heading into the bye week, Auburn ranks No. 82 in Paul Myerberg’s weekly rankings, down one spot from last week’s release.
Georgia remains No. 5 despite Auburn’s defeat and Alabama And Tennessee. Texas And Ohio State each moved up one position to No. 1 and No. 2 respectively while Oregon And State of Pennsylvania each moved up three places to take the No. 3 and No. 4 spots.
Looking at the rest of the SEC, Missouri was hit the hardest this week after its road loss to Texas A&M. THE Tigers remain in the top 25 after losing 14 places to No. 24. Tennessee and Alabama are No. 8 and No. 9 this week after suffering upset losses to unranked SEC foes on the road.
Vanderbilt had the biggest jump this week, climbing 34 spots to No. 58 after its upset win over then-No. 2 Alabama on Saturday. The biggest drop belongs to TCU. They fell 22 spots to 66th after losing to Houston, 30-19.
