Call her daddy podcast host and creator Alex Cooper revealed she’s still healing from a traumatic incident involving her college football coach at Boston University.
In a feature with Cosmopolitan posted Tuesday, Cooper spoke vaguely about the incident — but when it came to her healing journey, she shared that she was “in the process, which I’m proud of myself for.”
“Now that I have created this platform“I feel new wisdom in certain aspects of my life, thanks to experience, therapy and the people I surround myself with,” Cooper said. “But with this specific thing, it’s so personal to me and it’s taken a toll on my mental health.”
She shared that she had recently reconnected with members of the team, “and it’s been quite cathartic,” adding, “I met one of my teammates in Santa Monica who I hadn’t seen since we graduated – we didn’t even say hello to each other, we both just started crying. There’s another woman who went through this with me, and we finally saw each other recently and it’s just crazy to talk about it together. Connect with these others women with these scarsIt’s the first step to saying, ‘Oh my God, I feel better.'”
Cooper is not yet ready to release details of the sensitive event but plans to share her story on her podcast when she is ready.
“This topic is in a drawer in my brain, and it’s slightly open now and I know it’s there, but I’m not going to force myself to go there until I’m like, ‘All right, I’m really ready.’ I think this is going to be a much broader conversation. I’m not the only person who something like this has happened to. It’s not just going to be about what happened to me, it’s going to be about rally other women together.”
And his fans are still so supportive.
“The Daddy Gang sends me messages like, ‘As soon as you’re ready for history, we’ll be there. And there’s no pressure,'” she shared. “I’ll definitely discuss it on the podcast. I just don’t know when.”
