Quick explanation

When it comes to the In-Season tournament, you just need to know these two terms: Group Play and Knockout Rounds.

• Group game: The 30 teams were randomly divided into six groups. Each team will play a match against the opponents in their group from November 3 to 28. These matches are played during “Tournament Evenings” and count in each team’s 82-match schedule. Each team will play a total of four group matches..
• Knockout rounds: Eight teams advance to this stage: the six teams with the best finish in their group matches and two “wild cards” (the team from each conference with the best record in group matches but finished second in their group) . This stage is direct elimination: Quarter-finals > Semi-finals > Championship.

One thing to note: In the event that two or more teams are tied within a group, the tie between the teams will be broken according to the following tiebreakers (in sequential order):

• Head-to-head results in the group stage
• Point difference in group stage
• Total points scored in the group stage
• 2022-23 NBA Regular Season Record
• Draw (in case two or more teams are still tied after previous tiebreakers).
