Mike Gorman may have commentated his last game as the voice of the Boston Celticsbut he remains very involved in the local sports scene.
The legendary Celtics announcer made an appearance at Fenway Park on Sunday to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the series finale between the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox. Check out Gorman’s pitch below:
Gorman wore a custom Red Sox jersey with the number 43 on the back, a nod to his 43-year tenure as the Celtics’ play-by-play announcer, which ended last season with his retirement from the broadcast table.
It was a special moment for Gorman, who grew up in the Boston Dorchester neighborhood and has deep roots in the City of Champions.
