They’re going to continue not being serious, aren’t they? The voters of American LBM Coaches Surveypresented by USA TODAY Sports, has somehow put Oregon Ducks five places ahead of USC Trojans. The last poll after week 2 came out on Sunday. A week ago, USC was eight spots behind Oregon Even though the Trojans beat LSU and Oregon barely beat Idaho at home, this week Oregon struggled again at home and was lucky to come away with a 37-34 win over Boise State. The Ducks haven’t looked strong or convincing. They were an 18.5-point favorite and almost lost outright. They nearly went to overtime. Boise State gave up 45 points to Georgia Southern a week ago. Oregon not only failed to match that 45-point total; the Ducks’ offense scored just 23 of Oregon’s 37 points. The Ducks scored 14 of their 37 points on kick returns for touchdowns. Oregon was really shaky in Week 2. Still, The Ducks didn’t fall at all in the new coaches poll. USC edged ahead, but the Trojans beat Utah State by 48 points and posted a shutout. Clearly, USC has been a better and stronger team than Oregon the last two weeks, with quality wins and much larger margins of victory. Yet voters are giving Oregon five spots ahead of the Trojans. It’s confusing, to say the least. Here’s the full poll after Week 2:
1. Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia won a cupcake game in Week 2 and remained No. 1 in the poll.
3. The Texas Longhorns
4. The Alabama Red Tide

Ole Miss beat Middle Tennessee and is No. 5.
6. Oregon Ducks
7. Penn State Nittany Lions
9. Tennessee Volunteers
10. Utah Utes
11. USC Trojans

USC is five spots behind Oregon, despite playing much better than the Ducks. This has to make sense. It’s crazy.
12. Miami Hurricanes

Miami won a knockout game and moved up to 12th place.
14. Oklahoma State The cowboys
15. State of Kansas Wild cats
16. Michigan Wolverines
17. LSU Tigers
