In a surprise announcement, Chicago Sky record-breaking rookie Angel Reese announced he will miss the final weeks of the season with a wrist injury.
What a year! I never would have guessed that the last basket of my rookie season would be a 3, but maybe that was God saying to give them a taste of what they’ll see more of in year two, lol. Through it all, I showed that I belonged in this league even when no one else believed I did.… pic.twitter.com/re1X85mWR2

Reese, the No. 7 overall pick out of LSU, set the WNBA record for most rebounds in a season with 446, and averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game in her rookie campaign. She set a WNBA record with 15 consecutive double-doubles and finished with 26 total for the season. She helped lead the Chicago Sky to the playoffs (the Sky and The Atlanta Dream are tied for 8th place in the league, the final playoff spot).
Reese — with Caitlin Clark — have been at the heart of the WNBA’s rise to popularity this season, as evidenced by record ratings and attendance. Her presence will be missed in the final weeks of the season and perhaps even during the playoffs.
