Grigor Dimitrov’s press conference at Roland Garros took a strange turn when a reporter asked him what his ex-girlfriend Maria Sharapova was doing.
“An off-topic question that I hope you will accept,” said the journalist before the third-round clash between the world number 20 at Roland Garros.
“Are you still in touch with Maria Sharapova? I know you went your separate ways, but I’ve always been quite jealous of you.

“I would like to know if you are in contact with her, if you talk, what is she doing? Is she still playing tennis?”
Dimitrov, who dated the retired former world number one between 2012 and 2015, took the bizarre question lightly and gave the reporter an answer.
“You can always be jealous,” he joked.
“No, no, she’s fine. We’ve always had a good friendship, a good relationship. I mean, I hope you follow her on Instagram. Maybe that way you know what she’s (doing).
“I’m not worried about her, I think she’s in a good place, I think, in her life.
“She’s also the kind of person who, when she makes such a decision and such a transition, knows that it’s for the right (reason) and for the good.”
He added: “I don’t know. I wish I could tell you more.”
Dimitrov will return to action on Saturday when he takes on Roberto Carballes Baena.
