Start the year in style!

Looks like TCU is ready to make it big in the Big 12 (which at one point was called the Dirty Dozen).

Key TCU players caught in drug bust
^

Perhaps the most damning statement is this:

“Horn and Johnson mocked the Feb. 1 team drug test ordered by Patterson, police said. Brock allegedly told an undercover agent that he had failed the surprise test “for sure,” but that it was not wouldn’t be a problem because it “would be about 60 people screwed up.”

Horn had reviewed the roster of football players and “stated there were only 20 people who would pass the test on the team,” Brock said, according to the warrant.

And six days after the test, Johnson allegedly sold $300 worth of marijuana to a police officer. Asked about the test, he said: “What can they do, 82 people failed.”

Any ideas where this is going? Does the NCAA have any say in this?

I’m curious to see what happens. Since this is a private Christian school with a small enrollment, the administration might be much harsher than others.

Or it could be a kid throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks, so maybe he doesn’t seem like the only loser.

The investigation was opened following complaints from students and parents. I imagine it was well known, if mostly quiet, among the student body.

How many times have you heard students complain about how easy it is to get drugs?

87 members of the football team failed the drug test

He would need to have the intestinal capacity of a rhino and the arm strength of a gorilla.

He should have the gut capacity of a rhino and the arm strength of a gorilla.(/quote)

So it was confirmed that 82 failed?
Sorry, I was multitasking and should have read the article.

Well, that’s completely fucked up.

I’m not sure if it was this or another article, but yes, it was a team effort.

I wonder how many players were less popular because they didn’t participate.

Update

5 tested positive, others with a margin of error

About 17 separated from the university

A high-profile recruit said he didn’t choose TCU because of his drug use.

Those who test positive are excluded from the team.

I was listening to GaC discuss this today while driving. These numbers were not officially reported by TCU, a guy from the Star Telegram wrote all of this. I suspect these numbers are low. A positive rate of 5% out of 100 random students is about as clear-cut as it gets these days. I really find it hard to believe that a football team with 4 drug dealers only had 1 other guy smoking weed.
