About James Smythe
James Smythe was born in 1954 in Rome, New York. He grew up in San Jose, California. As a child, James began playing the drums and piano at the age of 8 and has had a passion for playing and composing music ever since. James attended Stanford University where he played offensive guard for the Stanford Cardinal football team. Over the years, James has been an entrepreneur who has launched many successful businesses. After moving to New York in 2002, he started a very popular and successful private travel business called “My Kind of Town New York”. James is a photographer, music composer, writer, producer, investor and philanthropist. He and Joe Sharino met in 4th grade and have been very good friends ever since. James and Joe thought football needed a song of its own, so they wrote the song for football fans to sing in football stadiums across America. The lyrics to “That’s Football” were composed to include almost everything that happens during a football match.
