All-NBA Teams 2024: final voting results, list of players from the first, second and third teams

Few end-of-season honors are as prestigious as a selection to one of the three All-NBA teams.

Since the 1988-89 season, the NBA has recognized 15 players – three teams of five – to represent the All-NBA first, second and third teams. Before this year, two teams were tasked with recognizing the 10 most deserving players for an All-NBA selection.

The 2023-24 season is another notable year in All-NBA voting as it will be the first season in which All-NBA teams will be positionless. In the past, teams consisted of two guards, two forwards and a center, but in 2024, each team can consist of any combination of five players.

In addition to the positionless format, this season is the first in which players must meet a minimum threshold of games played to be eligible for an All-NBA selection. Players who have not played at least 20 minutes in 65 or more games are not eligible for an All-NBA selection, except for those who suffered an injury considered season-ending.

The following tables will be updated when the All-NBA teams are revealed around 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 22.

How All-NBA teams are selected

The NBA’s end-of-season awards are voted on by a global panel of 100 sports journalists and broadcasters, although it appears only 99 responses were counted in 2023-24.

For All-NBA, each voter chooses the five players they consider most interesting for the first, second and third teams. From 2024, these selections are made regardless of the position.

Players receive five points for first team votes, three points for second team votes, and one point for third team votes.

Who has the most All-NBA selections?

LeBron James sits alone atop the career All-NBA selection rankings.

Besides James, only three other players have earned at least 15 All-NBA selections. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan each earned 15 caps in their respective careers.

Warriors guard Chris Paul ranks second in All-NBA selections among active players with 11. Kevin Durant has 10.
