While the NFL Draft Combine is an opportunity for teams to meet draft-eligible players, it is also an opportunity for media to meet players, and vice versa.
Most of the questions are standard things the media asks athletes, but every once in a while we’re treated to a hilarious exchange on a topic other than football.
That was the case Thursday night when CHGO Sports’ Mark Carman got into a “heated debate” with South Carolina Gamecocks tight end Trey Knox.
I just got into a heated Jordan vs. LeBron debate with South Carolina TE Trey Knox. I am doing my best to educate America’s youth. pic.twitter.com/FwbqrpLozs

“How many times has MJ led the league in scoring? » » asked Carman. “Ten times. How many times has LeBron done it? Knox was quick to retort: ”Who was the second-highest scorer when Michael was there? Who was his competition? Who was he playing?
The discussion covered many key points repeated about X every time the topic comes up. “Jordan was getting foul after foul after foul,” Knox added later. “LeFlop. Did they ever call Michael that? Carman replied.
The two then debated how the Bulls played without Jordan and how many first- or second-round playoff exits there were compared to James, to which Carman brought up the 2011 Finals against the Dallas Mavericks when James only scored eight points in a loss.
Ultimately, both men decided to leave the debate without a clear winner, as is often the case.
