Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik have been the hot topic on social media after the Pakistani cricketer’s third marriage.
New Delhi: Sania Mirza’s team and family have finally broken their silence by stating that the former Indian tennis ace and Shoaib Malik have been divorced for a few months. Sania became a trending topic on social media since Saturday morning after the Pakistani cricketer (now ex-husband) shared photos from her wedding with Sana Javed on Saturday.

“Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need arose for her to share that she and Shoaib have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes good luck to Shoaib for his new journey ahead!,” said a statement from the team and Sania’s family.
“At this sensitive time in his life, we would like to ask all fans and supporters to refrain from engaging in any speculation and to respect his need for privacy,” it added.

Sania and Shoaib have been making headlines since 2022 over their separation after being rarely seen together in the previous two years. It was also reported that Shoaib unfollowed Sania on Instagram a few days ago.
Sania was Shoaib’s second wife after the Pakistani cricketer got married to an Indian woman from Hyderabad, previously named Ayesha Siddique. Sania and Shoaib got married in April 2010 in Hyderabad and the couple lived in Dubai. Together they have a son named Izaan. The five-year-old child lives with Sania.
Meanwhile, Sana Javed had married Pakistani singer Umair Jaiswal in 2020 amid coronavirus pandemic but got separated. Meanwhile, Shoaib is currently playing for Fortune Barishal in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
The former Pakistan captain and one of the country’s best, last played for the national team in 2021 in a T20I against Bangladesh in Mirpur. The all-rounder represented Pakistan in 446 matches, scoring 11,867 runs and taking 218 wickets.
Sania, in a recent Instagram post, had hinted at personal struggles. “Marriage is hard, divorce is hard. Pick your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard, pick your hard. being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Pick your hard,” he said. she posted in an Instagram story.
“Communication is difficult. No communication is difficult. Life will never be easy. I will always be difficult. But we can pick our hard. Choose wisely.” Celebrated as one of India’s greatest tennis players, Sania announced her retirement from professional tennis last year after an illustrious career spanning two decades. She has won six Grand Slam titles in doubles and mixed doubles.
