Let’s talk about spring baseball training yesterday for the Cardinals.
Matthew Liberatore is trying to earn a spot like we’ve talked about in the rotation, maybe in the bullpen.
Liberatore allowed five runs on seven hits in four innings of work, but struck out five…didn’t walk a batter and earns his second win, he’s 2-0 in the spring but with a ERA of six.
He also allowed two homers yesterday.
Alec Burleson his first home run of the spring.
Yvonne Herrera, who could play the backup role behind Wilson Contreras, also hit a home run… hasn’t talked about it much since her Royals debut last season.
Left-hander Cole Reagan struggled on the mound yesterday against the Rockies…allowed four runs on six hits on three and two thirds, two strikeouts and a walk, he is 0-1-1 now in the spring with a 4.15 ERA.
Overall, the Royals are 11 and 7 this year.
The Players Championship begins tomorrow… TPC Sawgrass Commissioner Jay Monahan said Tuesday that discussions are continuing with the Saudi Public Investment Fund, but declined to go into actual details.
