Kaizer Chiefs have issued a formal apology to the Premier Soccer League for the behavior of their fans during matches against SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Soweto giants were fined by the PSL disciplinary committee earlier this month after pleading guilty to two separate charges of spectator misconduct.

Chiefs have also been warned of the possibility of playing without spectators during a match if another incident occurs.
The Chiefs have now issued a formal apology to the league, condemning the fans’ behavior.
Statement:
Letter of apology for the behavior of Kaizer Chiefs fans during the Kaizer Chiefs vs SuperSport United FC PSL match on 20 September 2023 and the Kaizer Chiefs vs Mamelodi Sundowns FC MTN8 match on 23 September 2023.
Kaizer Chiefs hereby unreservedly apologizes to the Premier Soccer League, all member clubs of the PSL, SuperSport United FC, Mamelodi Sundowns FC and all its peace-loving supporters, for the behavior of some of its supporters during the club’s PSL match against SuperSport United FC at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on September 20, 2023 and against Mamelodi Sundowns FC at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on September 23, 2023.
The Club condemns in the strongest terms this inappropriate and unacceptable behavior.
We have already started a process of dialogue with the branches of Kaizer Chiefs on the behavior of fans at football matches.
