SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns players take the field during the DStv Premiership 2023/24 match between SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on 29 November 2023
After Stadium Management South Africa confirmed it was unable to accommodate Mamelodi Sundowns’ request to stage their CAF Champions League match at FNB Stadium, the Brazilians have confirmed the venue for their next confrontation.

Sundowns will take TP Mazembe to their “slaughterhouse” that is the Lucas ‘Masterpieces’ Moripe Stadium for their final Group A match on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
It is after their home, the Loftus Versveld stadium, that they will be used by their rugby sisters, the Blue Bulls, who will face the Stormers on site.
Sundowns unsuccessfully attempted to use one of the alternative venues, FNB Stadium, for the clash; however, their request was denied due to facility congestion at the site.
FNB will be used for Kaizer Chiefs’ matches against Moroka Swallows on March 2, Golden Arrows on March 5 and the Soweto Derby on March 9 and would therefore not be available for Sundowns.
The Brazilians, already qualified for the quarter-finals, currently top the group standings with a better head-to-head record than their opponents on Saturday and will be hoping to finish the group strong with a possible 13 points.
