EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club and Community Foundation are partnering with the Canada-Ukraine Foundation to support the millions of Ukrainians affected by the tragic events unfolding in their country.
The Oilers will show their unwavering support in the Stand With Ukraine game on Thursday, January 5 against the New York Islanders. The game will feature a number of Ukrainian cultural elements at Rogers Place, including a puck drop ceremony with Ukrainian families recently moved to Canada, the national anthem performed by the Edmonton Ukrainian Men’s Choir in English and in Ukrainian, as well as a limited edition Oilers Stand With Ukraine. merchandise will be available for purchase and net proceeds will be donated to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation.

In addition to the game, the Oilers 50/50 draw from January 3-7 will support the Canada-Ukraine Foundation to help enable the work of the UCC-CUF Humanitarian Appeal to continue by providing aid, including food, medicine and ongoing assistance projects. generated by Canadians to Ukraine.

The Oilers are also proud to host the Ukrainian U-25 Men’s National Team who are in Alberta as part of their Hockey Can’t Stop tour. The team will face the University of Alberta Golden Bears this evening at Clare Drake Arena with ticket proceeds also going to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation.
