AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn football and head coach Karen Hoppa announced the addition of transfer forward Shelby Sallee to the program Tuesday.
Sallee spent the previous three seasons at Xavier University. She will join the Tigers team in the spring, with two years of eligibility remaining.
“We are excited to add Shelby to our roster,” Hoppa said. “She is a proven striker who can score goals and create for others. She will be an exciting player for fans to watch next fall.”
Sallee made his collegiate debut in the fall of 2021, playing in all 20 matches for the Musketeers while scoring four goals and three assists. She was named to the Big East All-Freshman team. An injury sidelined Sallee for the 2022 season, but she responded with seven goals and an assist in a stellar 2023 campaign. She earned a spot on this year’s Big East all-tournament team- there.
During his two seasons on the court at Xavier, the Musketeers won two conference titles and posted a 30-7-5 head-to-head record, which included two NCAA Tournament berths.
Sallee attended Strongsville High School in Strongsville, Ohio, where she was a two-time All-American as well as the program’s all-time leading scorer. As a club player, Sallee competed for the Cleveland Futbol Club.
Auburn football returns to action in the spring for a series of exhibition games. A schedule will be announced later.
