After drawing 0-0 against Algerian side CR Belouizdad last weekend, the Red Devils would have been looking to return to winning ways in the CAFCL next weekend.
As Marcel Koller’s men prepare to face Medeama in Ghana, that match now appears in jeopardy after the record African champions encountered plane problems, leading them to issue a statement on the matter .
According to one of its leaders, Muhannad Magdy, due to the plane’s inability to travel to Kumasi, the Club du Siècle asked CAF to postpone its fight against the West Africans.
“There was a problem with the plane since the start of takeoff from Cairo and we stopped at Accra airport for more than three hours during the day,” the Ahly chief said, according to El Watan News.
“We are currently preparing a report, in order to send it to the board of directors of the club, to take necessary action regarding the postponement of the match against Ghana Medeama and to completely resolve the matter of the match.

The team is believed to be currently staying in a hotel in Accra while waiting for another plane, but they are hoping that African football’s governing body will accept their request to play the match at a later stage.
