According to The sunHowever, the 20-time English champions are “begging” the experienced goalkeeper to return to the club on a short-term deal.

United signed Turkish international Altay Bayindir in the previous transfer window, but he is yet to make the squad, although Onana has had a difficult start to life in England.
De Gea, 32, spent 12 years in Manchester after arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2011, making an impressive 545 appearances in all competitions in the process.
