The 2024 NBA All-Star kicked off Saturday night with the Kia Skills Challenge featuring three teams. The format remains the same as the last two seasons, as three teams compete to determine the winner. This year’s teams are Team Pacers, Team First Picks and Team All-Stars.

Trae Young set the tone for the team relay, but errors from Scottie Barnes and Tyrese Maxey extended their times. Paolo Banchero and Victor Wembanyama made it to the team’s first picks. Anthony Edwards decided to finish the relay using his left hand, and it backfired.
Team Pacers were almost perfect, as Tyrese Haliburton finished their stint by picking off a between-the-legs pass, catching it and slamming it home for the win.

Team All-Stars once again set the tone in the second round, with Team First Picks failing to sync up for more points. The Pacers team rallied down the stretch to force a tiebreaker as they finished with 74 points, the same as the All-Stars team.

The Pacers team came through in the clutch, as they threw passes in the six- and four-point hoops to get 92 points and win by two over the All-Stars team. The Pacers team got a total of 200 points in the first two rounds.

The All-Stars team stood out by scoring 33 points in the third round. It was too much for Team First Picks and Team Pacers, as they failed to even get 20 points. Team All-Stars earn 200 points to force tiebreaker with Team Pacers in Skills Challenge 2024

Result: Team Pacers win the Skills Challenge.
In the Tiebreaker Challenge, both teams will have to make a half-court shot with as little time as possible.
The All-Stars team had no rhythm, as Tyrese Maxey stopped the time at 58.8 seconds. Team Pacers were also cold at the start before Tyrese Haliburton gave them the victory after 38.3 seconds.
