Stephen A. Smith is a sports moron, and he doesn’t want to talk about an NBA player’s gay or bi dating that he himself researched and reported on. Shocking.
Stephen A. Smith does not want to talk about the potential details of NBA legend Dwight Howard is bisexual. Or gay. Or bisexual. Or gay. Or… eewwww, of course!
No, Smith doesn’t want to talk about any of that. At all.
The worst person in sports media wouldn’t dare talk about this topic. An NBA guy with guys?
“Ewwwwww,” Smith says (proverbially, of course, because he wouldn’t actually dare say what he thinks).
Smith doesn’t seem to want to talk about life as an LGBTQ person in the NBA, the league he covers.
And yet, he wants to talk about it so much.
“It’s not comfortable for me to talk about this topic,” Smith said. “I just don’t understand. I’m careful. »
Oh yes, so “careful” that he had to describe in detail Howard’s alleged sexual relationship with another man.
So “careful”.
Smith wouldn’t dare stoke the flames of speculation, as he spills all the tea on Howard’s alleged trist, going well beyond Outsports’ coverage of the matter.
Smith POSSIBLY couldn’t do that. Because… ewwwww! He couldn’t!
But that’s what Smith did this week, reading – with his eyes covered, of course – some alleged details about Howard’s sex life.
Because Smith clearly needs to read the details about this publicly.
DON’T MAKE ME!!
After speaking about the exchange of explicit photos and videos, Smith shared this:
“Lord have mercy, just let me take a break.” Oh my God.”
In the video of him reading this information – oh please, God, forgive me – Smith lowered his head, as if he seemed to be praying, because – duh – a totally 100% straight guy like Smith must be totally disgusted by any reports of men having sex with each other.
Totally. Right.
Of course, Smith didn’t need to read any of it. But he did it. For your good! Of course.
This was all before discussing the real allegations. It seems Smith wasn’t at all comfortable with Howard explicitly sharing himself with another man. This was apparently beyond acceptable to Smith.
“What a rat!” »
Holly Golightly herself is spinning in her grave.
Smith then equated Howard’s situation to Donald Sterling and His NBA Ban Situation Reflecting Alleged Abuse of a Woman.
Smith ‘just can’t’ talk about sex between two (or three) men, apparently. He proclaimed this several times in his segment. Because, of course, he’s totally straight and can’t get joy out of talking about men having sex with each other.
“To each their own,” Smith said. “You’re gay and this is what you want to do?” Cool. I’m not here to judge.
Oh yes. No judgment. Of course. No None. Despite Smith’s uncomfortable public reaction. No, no judgment. Duh!
Despite Smith’s nonsense about “that’s why teams didn’t want him“, one can only wonder why Smith himself would physically cover his eyes and reject the account of (either party’s) description of the events – or why he would have read articles about it first place.
I hadn’t read them. It was only by watching Smith’s ramblings – obsessing over the “details” of Howard’s allegations – that I had any idea of any of this.
Oh, this NBA legend slept with another guy. And maybe a third guy was there.
BLASPHEMY! TO GO OUT! I DON’T WANT TO SEE IT! COVER MY EYES!!!!
Smith protests a lot.
(But hold my iPad while I go over every potentially salacious detail of what’s being alleged. Yum yum.)
Smith continued to deflect, suggesting Howard’s absence from the The 75-man NBA team could have been, maybe, maybe if you thought about it. – “I’m totally guessing” – Smith, of course, deviated despite his stance.
“I’m totally guessing,” Smith said. He has no real idea, he’s just “guessing” to entice people who might join the Stephen A. Smith bandwagon.
And LGBTQ people like Howard find themselves in Smith’s self-centered wake.
