The Chicago Blackhawks will participate in the Tom Kurvers Prospect window alongside the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues. This is an opportunity for some of their best young players to play high -level matches with other good prospects for a set of similar skills.
Earlier in the week, the Blackhawks announced their list for this showcase, and he is talented. Some players will be in other development leagues in North America this season, others that aim to be in the NHL, and a handful that have the AHL Rockford Icehogs in their near future.
Each prospect is worth watching, because they are all there with NHL colors for a reason. However, these five exceed the rest as “essential”:
ARTYOM LEVSHUNOV
The importance of artyom Levshunov for the organization cannot be put into words. Chicago has selected Levshunov with the 2nd choice in total in the recovery of the NHL 2024, they therefore believe that he has the pedigree to be a high -level defender.
After playing for about a third of the 2024-25 season with the Blackhawks, and seeming to belong to the process, he has another chance of participating in this event. As one of the most experienced players in one of the three teams, Levshunov should be on everyone’s radar.
Sam Rinzel
When Sam Rinzel was selected by the Blackhawks in the last stages of the first round of the NHL 2022 draft, it was not a guarantee that he would be a possible number one defender in a team. The ceiling was still there, but it had to develop there. It seems that he did it.
As the regular season approaches, Rinzel arrives with a chance to direct the Blackhawks in a few minutes, or at least being near the summit. He only played 9 games, so they must be intelligent on this subject, but he does not seem out of the end of the end of 2024-25.
Rinzel and Levshunov both project key contributors to Chicago 2025-26 Blackhawks, so they should be major factors in an event like this.
Nick Lardis
Nick Lardis scored 71 goals with the Brantford Bulldogs in 2024-25. Add 46 assists for a large total of 117 points in 65 games played. It is exceptional, especially for a player chosen in the 3rd round (67th in total) of the NHL 2023 recovery.
Now Lardis seeks to become pro. Whether he sticks to Chicago Blackhawks or the Rockford Icehogs at the start of the season, remains to be seen. How he plays in the showcase of Tom Kurvers Prospect will certainly have an impact on this.
Ryan Greene
Ryan Greene played in 2 NHL games last season after a strong year as a captain of the University of Boston. Greene was a second round choice (57th in total) in the NHL 2022 draft, and he has all the tools to make him a successful NHL role.
Greene did not have any points in her two NHL games, but he is not there to be a main marker. He can contribute, but it is the little things he does at a high level wherever he goes that makes him visible.
During the window of the perspective, look at it to see how it has an impact on the game, whether the puck is on its stick or not. His style of play would make a big forefoot in a good team.
Oliver Moore
Oliver Moore could be the fastest player in either team. Sometimes he moves too quickly for his own good. However, there is no doubt about the talent that made him a first round choice (19th in total) in the recovery of the NHL 2023.
After a good year in Minnesota (and consecutive gold medals at the world junior championships with the United States team), Moore came to the NHL for nine games at the end of 2024-25. He collected four assists in these nine games.
Look at this during this event to see if he brings the speed and tenacity he is able to bring. If he does it, he will help the Blackhawks win matches. Moore is one of those players capable of being everywhere on the ice because of his speed, who will keep his eyes on him during this event.
He would like to be in the NHL to start the year, which could happen if he has a good camp. A strong performance here would be an excellent start.
