3 Players Wizards Should Avoid With No. 2 Pick In 2024 NBA Draft

The Washington Wizards enter the offseason with a very particular outlook: anything goes. Nothing is set in stone in Washington, which isn’t great, but it also means they can take their team in any direction they want.

In the case of the 2024 NBA Draft, that means the Wizards could target any position, draft any player, and try your luck at any level of project they think it’s good.

Unfortunately for them, project of this year is supposed to be one of the worst in recent memory. They may not have generational talents at their disposal.

But even if they can’t hit hard, they could very well fail. Here are five players the Wizards should look to avoid with the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

This year’s draft is very uneven. Alex Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher seem to be the most popular picks to go first and second (more on that later), but the Wizards could theoretically take this pick in any direction they want.

Nikola Topic looks solid. He fits the profile of big international point guards who have had some success in the league in the past. But he’s not for Washington.

Topic’s upside is obvious. If the Wizards were to pick him and he became the next Luka Doncic (which is highly unlikely), then that would be great. But if they don’t, they run the risk of getting the next great point guard who is slow on defense and can’t really shoot.
